FAQ TECH — Frequently Asked Questions
1) How do I select the correct pump for my excavator as fast as possible?
To ensure full compatibility (flow, pressure, power and configuration), please send Globexim:
- a photo of the pump nameplate (model code + serial number),
- a photo of the machine nameplate (brand, model, serial number/year if available).
Based on this information, we will match the pump to your requirements and confirm compatibility.
2) How should I prepare the machine for pump replacement?
Safety first:
- completely shut down the machine and disconnect power (battery),
- relieve hydraulic pressure to zero,
- secure the machine against accidental start (lockout/tagout where applicable).
3) What should I remember when removing the old pump?
- Label hoses and connectors: mark hydraulic and electrical lines to avoid mistakes during reassembly.
- Keep it clean: clean the area around the pump before opening the system to prevent dirt from entering.
- Oil handling: drain oil as needed and dispose of it properly according to local regulations.
4) What technical steps are essential before installing the new pump?
- Replace filters: replace all oil filters and check the tank/lines for sludge and metal particles.
- Rotation direction: verify shaft rotation direction (arrow on the housing) matches the machine drive.
- Pre-fill the pump: critical step—pre-fill the pump housing with clean hydraulic oil via the drain port to avoid a dry start.
5) How do I start and bleed the system correctly?
- fill the system with clean hydraulic oil (recommended cleanliness NAS 1638 Class 9),
- bleed according to the machine manufacturer’s procedure (often several short starts without load),
- monitor: check for leaks and listen for abnormal noise (may indicate air or cavitation).
6) What are Globexim warranty requirements?
To keep the warranty valid (standard: 6 months from the date of sale):
- installation/commissioning must be performed by an authorized service company or a certified specialist,
- the work must be documented with a Commissioning Report including date, service details and performed activities. Without this document, the warranty is invalid.
7) When can a warranty claim be rejected?
Most common reasons: missing Commissioning Report, unauthorized intervention, unsuitable fluids, contamination/foreign matter, and installation errors (including dry start / no pre-fill).
